CHSA- Congressional Hispanic Staff Association

Resume Bank

CHSA offers members the opportunity to submit their resumes to the CHSA Resume Bank.  After our organization launched its diversity initiative in 2007, we created the first phase of a Resume Bank with our colleagues from the Congressional Asian Pacific American Staff Association (CAPASA) and the Congressional Black Associates (CBA).

After CHSA first launched its Diversity Initiative in 2007, we created the first phase of a Resume Bank in 2008 along with our colleagues from the Congressional Asian Pacific American Staff Association and the Congressional Black Associates. In 2009, our organization moved to the second phase of a Resume Bank and created a CHSA-specific electronic resume bank.

We invite you to submit your resume to CHSA’s Resume Bank so that we can assist you with our best effort.

Please READ and FOLLOW the instructions below.

JOINING THE RESUME BANK IS EASY!

  1. Complete online form below.
  2. E-Mail it as a Word or PDF attachment to chsa.placement.committee@gmail.com . Please save it as Last Name, First Name and Date. Use the same format on the subject line (Example: Gonzales, March 09-09-13).

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR RESUME?

  1. By submitting your resume, you agree to have a member of CHSA’s Professional Development Committee review your resume and contact you to discuss your resume and your search.
  2. Our Committee may connect you with a CHSA member to share advice and help identify individuals to meet for informational interviews.
  3. Once your resume has undergone the review process, your resume will be marked “active”.
  4. When an office asks CHSA for resumes for a particular position, CHSA will email the office member “active” resumes whose interests and experiences match their needs.
  5. If CHSA identifies particular offices that have openings, we may email their hiring manager the resumes of CHSA members whose interests and experiences align with the job opening.
  6. If you contact us prior to applying for a position, we may send a follow up email to that office encouraging them to consider your resume.
  7. Resumes will be considered “active” for two months after initial submission. If you would like to remain in the resume bank after this period, you must resubmit an updated form and send us your updated resume.

The CHSA Resume Bank is meant to supplement your job search process. As you apply, interview or become hired for a position on Capitol Hill please inform us, so that we may be an extra source of support.

We encourage you to submit your resume to job vacancies that become available to the following resume banks:

If you have any questions or would like to be an active member of CHSA’s Professional Development Committee, please email us at chsa.placement.committee@gmail.com.
